HOW MUCH 4G DATA DOES DO CAMERAS USE?

Camera data consumption depends on lots of variable factors.
  1. Usage: the more the camera is recording the more data it will use. 4G cameras generally only record on motion or detection. The more it records the more data it uses. If you only record for 15 seconds every motion detection or 60 seconds this will change the amount of usage.
  2. Settings: if you record on the standard definition or high definition will change the amount of data used.
  3. Viewing camera/recordings: If you are constantly checking the camera or recordings on the phone app then you will use data by connecting to the camera
Most cameras go into "Standby Mode" when not recording which saves on power and data. Approx 2mb per day on standby mode is common but can vary. When recording or connecting to the camera you can use between 260mb-700mb (Approx) for 1 hour of recording or playback on the app. Typical settings only record for for 15-30 seconds every time there is motion detected.

Example: If you have 16 motion activations per day at 15 seconds per recording then you will end up having a total of 4 minutes per day or around 2 hours per month. You may use around 1-2 GB of data per month with this type of usage.
